AMSTERDAM – Chewing gum brand BenBits can claim to be plastic-free and made from natural ingredients. That was the ruling of the Amsterdam court on Friday. This is a victory for the company after losing two cases before the Advertising Code Committee. The committee had previously upheld a complaint about the claims made by competitor Perfetti Van Melle, the maker of Mentos, among other products. The RCC cannot impose sanctions, so Perfetti took the matter to court.
