New turtle-shaped chewing gum introduced during official opening
BenBits celebrated the opening of its new chewing gum factory in Heerhugowaard today. This move brings the production of natural, plastic-free chewing gum from Italy to the Netherlands and represents a major step forward for BenBits in terms of sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions. The new factory will produce 300 kilograms of BenBits chewing gum every week. A BenBits chewing gum weighs 1.5 grams. During the festive opening, BenBits chewing gum was made together with guests and under the guidance of director Milan Dontje and pastry chef Bart de Gans. This was done in the unique and newly introduced shape of a turtle, the symbol of BenBits and Mother Nature. The first bags of new chewing gum then rolled off the production line and were handed over to the Plastic Soup Foundation. BenBits is a proud partner of the Plastic Soup Foundation, working towards a shared mission: to reduce (micro)plastics in nature and waterways. The chewing gum in its new form is now available at Jumbo, Holland&Barret, SPAR, and EcoMondo. BenBits will also soon be available at Stach and Crisp. For more information, visit: www.benbits.com

Famous BenBits in salmiak flavor back in product range
Milan Dontje, director of BenBits, is pleased with the ruling and is optimistic about the future: "As of today, we are officially allowed by the court to call our chewing gum plastic-free and natural. And that's unique, because all other major chewing gum brands make their gum from plastic. And of course, they prefer to keep that under wraps. Imagine if everyone knew that they were actually eating plastic. Fortunately, BenBits is now the first Dutch brand that is plastic-free, natural, and vegan. This is how we are working toward a more sustainable future."
Milan continues: "I am pleased that the Court has once again ruled in favor of BenBits, confirming our determination. This ruling is not only important for the chewing gum revolution, it also means a lot for our role as a small and innovative player. We have demonstrated our commitment and belief in chewing gum and packaging that is better for people and the environment. We now produce our chewing gum in a unique turtle shape at our own factory in Heerhugowaard. We are also excited to announce our future plans to expand our product range. We have revamped the well-known salmiak flavor and brought it back to the market."
